Our constitution does not require citizens to vote. But it’s every citizen's responsibility to vote in order for our representative democracy to work. The law requires eligible voters to register in order to exercise their right to vote.
In Montana, you must be over 18, have lived in the state for 30 days and be a law-abiding citizen of the United States.
Registering is as simple as filling out a Voter Registration Application any time up until 30 days before an election. After 30 days you need to visit the County election office in Hamilton to complete a late registration form.
