Our Long-Term Vision
for the Bitterroot Valley is Clear
Our Valley Vision is set in the future, maybe 10 years; it is a positive vision. It is what we want to create and sustain.
The elements are: A Vibrant Business Environment; Education as a Community Priority; Ravalli County Public Lands as a Priority; and a County Government is “Forward Looking”. This is not to criticize anything going on now; but rather to say these are essential elements of the valley we believe must be actively attended to going forward. It’s like the picture on the top of the puzzle box: we see it and we put it together.
Some three dozen people devoted two-three hours every Tuesday for months to develop this for us. Say thanks when you get a chance.
We were thinking, exploring, and testing ideas with each other and some moderate Republicans. At last year’s Farmers' Market, when we explained these things to Republicans, they would agree at the 80% level!
The purpose is straightforward: it is a conversation starter; not a conversation stopper. It is valley-centric, forward looking, unifying and action-oriented. The key word is “together.” As a significant minority in the valley, we cannot do these things alone. But, together with moderate Republicans and Independents, we can create and sustain the conditions that make our valley so desirable.
So when someone says, “Why are you a Democrat?” You can answer:
“Ravalli County Democrats are all about making this valley the kind of place your grandkids will want to live; and we want to do that together!”
You can get your copy at the RAVDEM booth next to the Farmers' Market in Hamilton.
