Want to Be a Poll Watcher?
Observe the democratic process in action, up close and in person!
We need your help! Election observation increases public confidence and ensures that the process is fair, private, and secure. We take no action except to report our observations to the Chief Judge.
What do I do?
- Submit your contact information by completing our online Poll Watcher sign up form below or by emailing Julie Adair at julie65001@gmail.com.
- Choose from 8 Polling Locations, covering all 25 precincts, from Darby to Florence. It doesn’t have to be your precinct.
Note: One poll watcher from each political party is allowed to be stationed close to the poll lists in a location that does not interfere with the election procedures. - Choose a shift that suits your schedule (a shift is 2 to 4 hours). Then put it on your calendar, datebook, and/or phone calendar!
- After you submit the form below, Julie Adair will reply by email to confirm the shift and location you selected. Please check your junk mail if you have not received a reply in 24 hours.
- Read “Ravalli County Guidance for Poll Watchers and Election Observers.” (Will be provided.)
Zoom training will be offered by the RAVDEMS close to the election.
On Election Day:
- Check in with an Election Official/Chief Judge at the polls.
- Wear the poll watcher tag provided by the Chief Judge.
- Take a seat and observe the process quietly without interrupting.
- Do NOT interfere! If you observe anything that you question, speak to the Chief Judge.
- Be prepared to email your observations about your poll watching experience at the end of your shift to Julie Adair, julie65001@gmail.com. It can be very brief, if you observe no problems, simply say so.
By submitting the form below, you will be volunteering to represent the Ravalli County Democratic Party as a poll watcher for the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Training will be provided.
